Thermal conductive 2.5 SSD case cooling technologies are available in both SATA and NVMe form factors. They can vary from a .2mm thick, 3W/m-K, UL-VO conformable thin thermal pad, to a very price-friendly 2W/m-K, with up to a 3.5W/m-K solution. 3M has also introduced a very super soft 3W/m-K non-silicone acrylic thermal pad that acts like a conformable gel but without the expensive equipment. It relies on the ease of use in a pad format.

  • 3M 8800 Series 
    • This product has a long history of success as a non-silicone thermally conductive tape
    • 5mil, 10mil, 15mil, and 20 mil thick options.
    • While at 0.6 W/m-K thermal conductivity would seem low, its wet-out and excellent impedance levels enable it to perform at the highest levels  
    • 3M 8800 series tape is VHB, with thermally conductive performance. 
  • 3M 8926 
    • This tape comes in .5mm, .20mm, .25mm thick options, 1.5W/m-K rating, It is a strong performer in the LED market
